My first experience was a couple years ago, my transmission was acting up so I asked around where to take it and a good friend of mine said he only trusted Jay's in Terre Haute. I went there, got my transmission fixed. When he called for me to come pick it up he mentioned that it had a little play in the shifter and he was not going to let it go without making sure it was properly fixed. Turns out he had to make a special part, one not manufactured anywhere, and I had my car back within a week. I am now taking my car in there next Monday. The quality is great, the people are nice, the price is right, and they truly care about their reputation and others. I'll never go anywhere else.

came home parked my truck ..jumped in it the next morning ..wont start ..click click ...could be the starter solenoid but i just put one on last year....so i need someone to push the clutch in to activate the safety switch so i can jump across the starter solenoid and see if the starter will turn ...i call up Jay ..he's got a meeting in 20 minutes but he will stop by .....Jay holds the clutch peddle down while i jump across the battery terminals on the starter solenoid ..and ...nothing happens ...we gotta burned out starter ...i say "Jay Know a wrecker service ?" ..Jay says " got one on the way " ...cool ! ....next day it's about 5:00pm .. i call Jay's ...there backed up for a week ... ...i say ok .. we'll tough it out ! ...so i'm setting at home no vehicle two days go by and it's friday ..and Jay 's Secretary calls up and says.....your truck is done ..but it was after hours and no one around to come and get me ...so like 20 minutes later ..Jay calls and says we're not open on saturday but ..be ready at 9:00 in the morning and i'll come and get ya .....jay shows up at 9:00 am ..we run to the bank so i can get money to pay the bill ..and done deal ....but i only live about a mile and a half from the shop so i got a pretty big advantage there ..and having Jay and his team standing by is a blissing ...and to eazy to let Jay fix it up rather than save the labor and then try to find someone to haul me around and find parts and then wrench them on ..so i have been dealing with Jay now for 7 - 10 years....when i was younger i loved working on cars ..but at 65 and a bunch of broken bones ..it's not so much fun anymore .... before we had Jay go through my old Dodge over bout a five year period ..and now i got this pretty nice 2000 Ford F 150 ..and right after i bought it i had Jay replace all the belts water pump all the sensors plugs and wires changed the oil filter .tuned the engine ..two new ehaust manifolds (old ones where cracked) and i found a performance dual stainless steel exhaust that Jay didnt have a line on ..and Jay hung that on there for me also ......the only things left are the alternator and battery .....the truck has 160,000 miles and doesnt burn a drop of oil so it's worth puting on new parts and drive it ..and it had all the original equipment ...so it's time.......and so far over the years everything that Jay's boys have worked on stays fixed......i haven't had that good of luck when i fix things ! lol and they do a pretty tight job of the factory detail under the hood when they put stuff back together ..like all the wiring is back in their holders and routed correctly .....my new plug wires where all put back in the proper clips and fastners ..things like that are important ..with wiring so it doesnt come in contact with anything hot like the exhaust ..and the hoses are all seated all the way with the clamps all squared up even spacing...lots of detail when they put stuff back together ...as if i had did it myself ... but that's why i dont work on my cars trucks no more ...it's to eazy to let Jay do it !
The customer service was stupendous!
Fixes all problems correctly and warranties repairs. Will take you home/work and the reverse if it's your only vehicle. Straightforward and honest. Only reason rated a 4 and not a 5 is because they are slow to return calls/communicate once your vehicle is in the shop. They do take a good while to fix your vehicle, but it's always fixed correctly.
