Not happy at all - expressly stated it was for a month, got a contract for a unit that I was NOT given at the storage unit. I spent quite a bit of time on the phone explaining what we needed with the unit, and decided on a specific unit with the help of the salesperson on the phone. Upon arriving at the unit, it was a joke - it was completely internal, beyond a doorway and narrow hallway, into an impossibly angled doorway. I contacted Red Dot and immediately expressed my frustration. I was "upgraded" to a unit at no additional cost, but then was billed another additional $30 for a month of storage AFTER telling them that I had vacated the unit and was finished.
EXTREMELY UNHAPPY with the service, quality, and representation of product. Also, there are rodent droppings in/around each of the units and buildings we saw.
Have not had any problems! Representatives have always been friendly and taken care of anything that needed done quickly and efficiently.
Twice I have had problems with my code not opening the gate. Red Dot was promptly on it with immediately giving me a 24 hour code. Thanks
In short - the security system and lack of on-site personnel seems to be better at keeping out paying customers than thieves.
Not a secured area. My unit was broken into and there was no cameras in the grounds. The one they had was a fake at the gates. Refused to honor their contract to add insurance after 60 days to my unit, was there over a year. Latches can be torn off making locks ineffective. Very cheap company when it comes to property protection. Attempted to raise my rates from 55 to 70 after my unti was broken into. According to police area was broken into 50+ times from the start of the year to when I was broken into.
After being off school for several months, I returned to get my stuff so I could move back in to my campus dorm. Too bad for me, my gate code no longer worked. The previous owner of this place at least had an office where you could speak to someone in person - this time, I had to wait in the blazing heat for my call to taken off hold at the call center. Eventually another customer with a working code showed up and they were kind enough to let me in. I would've shrugged this off and considered it just bad luck, but I later heard from my new roommate that his storage unit at the same facility had been broken into and he had lost a good chunk of what he had in there.
