I do have a few complaints though, that is why I gave four stars. The walls are very thin, I will be in the bathroom downstairs and hear the people above us going to the bathroom as well and if they don't wash their hands or not. Yuck. Bugs will get in very easily and I am pretty sure the people before us had flees because we had to bomb our apartment.
My decision to sign a lease with Heritage Trail Apartments is the worst decision I have ever made in terms of a residence. Their payment policies are archaic, as they charge to fee to pay your rent when using a debit card, and their preferred method of payment is by check. I had planned on using the automated payment function through their website, but I was informed by the staff that I definitely should not do this because there are frequent errors with the website and the rent payment is often not deducted even if the automatic payment function has been correctly set up. When I took over the residence, it was cleaned extremely poorly. There were cobwebs hanging from the ceilings, including one section that spanned approximately ten feet by one foot along the corner of the vaulted ceiling and the wall. In addition, the second week after I moved in, roofers showed up to re-shingle the entire condominium, but I was not informed that this was being done. When I contacted Heritage Trail about the roofers, they were completely unaware that this was scheduled and they were unable to determine if this was actually supposed to be done until a day after the roof was completed. Finally, the rules to break a lease are incredibly cost prohibitive, totaling five months worth of rent given the mandatory sixty day notice period plus the three additional months that are charged, though it is my understanding that this last portion does diminish a bit with time. That being said, my last complex required only a thirty day notice and charged only a single additional months worth of rent to break the lease at any point, and this was in a very affluent neighborhood. In addition, my prior complex never charged for using a debit card to pay the rent and their automatic payment system worked without fail once I set it up. Finally, while the staff of Heritage Trail have been very pleasant and apologetic regarding all of these issues, their constant refrain that this is how things are done in the business is of no consolation to me, and their policies are in no way representative of the policies I have previously encountered while renting. In summation, I highly recommend that anyone avoid renting from Heritage Trail Apartments. They are simply a business that has not caught up to the modern age and they ensure that they penalize their residents for the failures of their company to modernize.
Big pest problem but the apartment was near the woods. Maintenance always fixed everything thing and were really friendly. The girls that worked in the office were really nice and always willing to help. Amanda on the other hand seemed bothered or to busy. My take on the whole situation is that if you don't go to Rose, they are poorly located and a waste of money. You can find a cheaper place and fix it up and still save money. Everything breaks easily because its super cheap and if you don't get them to fix it, its two time more expensive then going out and buying a replacement. Hope this helped.
Other than that I do love them
I love living here, I really do! This was our first choice when we moved here and I am glad that we did. We love the pool, we love walking around the complex and our apartment is okay for four people. A little tight and everyone is friendly. We love Brooke!
It's as high end as it gets in Terre Haute. Sure it's expensive, but you get what you paid for. Free coffee/cookies, 24 maintenance service, and much more.
Great place to live. Quiet and affordable with a woodies feel. You will love living here.
The office ladies are friendly, but I think their a bit unorganized.
